Competitions

Leagues

Warwick Squash runs a fantastic and competitive internal box league throughout the year.

Open to those of all abilities throughout the club, players are seeded by ability into box leagues of between 4 to 6 players. Each season lasts for half a term, with each player playing the others in their league once.

At the end of each league season, players are promoted and relegated depending on their final league position to ensure the matches stay competitive.

In 2019/20, over 70 players took part! To find out how to get involved, make sure to follow the WarwickSquash Facebook page.

Tournaments

Non-Team Tournament

In addition, we run 2 tournaments a term: an internal tournament and an external tournament.

On Saturday week 4 of both term 1 and term 2 we host the non-team tournament, a tournament open to any players who don't regularly play for our BUCS teams. It's usually run as a group stage then knockout tournament, with up to 2 grades of competition.

Alumni Doubles

On Saturday (Term 1 Week 8), we welcome back our alumni for a fantastic doubles tournament. Alumni are paired with current students and given a paired costume theme to come as. Its a great light hearted event, and a chance to try playing some chaotic doubles squash!

Inter-University Tournament

At the end of term 2 comes Warwick Squash's biggest event of the year, our famous inter-uni tournament!

Last year students from 8 different universities came together to compete for 8 different trophies across 3 open grades and a women's grade, for a tournament spanning across the weekend.

Starting on Friday night with our pre-tournament curry, group stage matches are played on Saturday before we head to the Copper Rooms for our legendary Saturday night skool dayz circle. The knockout stages are played on the Sunday, with each player guaranteed at least 2 games on Saturday and at least 1 game on Sunday.

This fantastic weekend of squash is certainly not to be missed!
